The paper describes an activity for the development of an Open Source distributed platform for the control of industrial robots and automatic machines. Standard hw (PC104) and open source sw (RTAI-Linux) have been considered for this implementation. Examples are reported taking as case study the real time control of a PUMA 560 Manipulator.

Abstract
