The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child emphasizes the importance of supporting children and adolescents in reaching their full developmental potential. It recognizes families as primary caregivers and calls on governments and institutions to provide the necessary support to ensure parents can nurture and care for their children effectively. The World Health Organization’s nurturing care agenda promotes guidelines for early childhood development, focusing on responsive caregiving and learning opportunities. Disparities in parental investment during the first 1,000 days are key contributors to gaps in emotional and cognitive development. While many parenting programs exist, high costs and drop-out rates limit their scalability and long-term effectiveness. To address these challenges, media and apps offer a promising solution by making parenting support more accessible and affordable. Social media is increasingly used in education and health, and online parenting interventions are showing positive results in promoting healthy behaviors. In response, the MINd Us TOghether (MinUTo) project was developed—an app-based mindfulness intervention for parents of preschoolers, evaluated through a Randomized Controlled Trial. Preliminary results indicate a positive effect on increasing parental time investments.
