The oxidative power of a Resistive Barrier Discharge (RBD) gas plasma generator was assessed by measuring the absorbance associated to the primary and secondary oxidation products of a sunflower oil. Different operative conditions (treatment times and relative humidity of the atmosphere) were tested. The results showed significant increments in the absorbance values associated to the primary oxidation products with the increase of the treatment time (up to 38%). The influence of the relative humidity of the atmosphere was significant only for the absorbance values associated to secondary oxidation products.

Abstract
The oxidative power of a Resistive Barrier Discharge (RBD) gas plasma generator was assessed by measuring the absorbance associated to the primary and secondary oxidation products of a sunflower oil. Different operative conditions (treatment times and relative humidity of the atmosphere) were tested. The results showed significant increments in the absorbance values associated to the primary oxidation products with the increase of the treatment time (up to 38%). The influence of the relative humidity of the atmosphere was significant only for the absorbance values associated to secondary oxidation products.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
