We investigated the effect of several elicitors on the production of resveratrol in Vitis vinifera cv. Barbera cell suspension cultures. Salicylic acid, Na-orthovanadate, jasmonates, chitosan and the monomers D-glucosamine and N-acetyl-D-glucosamine, ampicillin and rifampicin differently elicitated the accumulation of the trans and cis resveratrol isomers, both in the cells and in the culture media. Proteomic analyses also showed that methyl-jasmonate and chitosan stimulated the ex-novo synthesis of the stilbene synthase protein

Abstract
We investigated the effect of several elicitors on the production of resveratrol in Vitis vinifera cv. Barbera cell suspension cultures.
