The SIRIUS - Management Strategies for Cultural Heritage at Risk project is aimed to implement, at a local scale, international recommendations for preventing natural and anthropogenic risks from endangering cultural heritage. The paper will discuss how SIRIUS supports cross-sectoral cooperation within local Institutions and Authorities in improving the management of risks by intervening on three key areas: the gathering of documentation on territorial risks and its systematization, the transfer of knowledge through jointed and inclusive training, and the raising of public awareness. From a sustainability standpoint, SIRIUS explores a methodological approach that is sensitive to the uniqueness of cultural assets, also considering the contribution of cultural heritage to fostering catastrophe resilience though initiative intended to promote the awareness of a “risk culture” among civil society.

Abstract
The SIRIUS - Management Strategies for Cultural Heritage at Risk project is aimed to implement, at a local scale, international recommendations for preventing natural and anthropogenic risks from endangering cultural heritage. The paper will discuss how SIRIUS supports cross-sectoral cooperation within local Institutions and Authorities in improving the management of risks by intervening on three key areas: the gathering of documentation on territorial risks and its systematization, the transfer of knowledge through jointed and inclusive training, and the raising of public awareness. From a sustainability standpoint, SIRIUS explores a methodological approach that is sensitive to the uniqueness of cultural assets, also considering the contribution of cultural heritage to fostering catastrophe resilience though initiative intended to promote the awareness of a “risk culture” among civil society.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
