Technical languages play a paramount role in the transfer of knowledge, but often receive little attention in foreign language teaching. In our article, we present two projects that aim to close this gap. As part of the »international@home« programme, the TU Darmstadt offers an intensive course with the aim of helping international students to acquire the vocabulary for mathematics. On the other hand, the project TermiKnowledge, which was carried out at four European universities in the AY 2021–22, dealt with the creation of a multilingual corpus-based online specialist dictionary on the COVID-19 discourse.
