In this paper, we use the Theory of Figural Concepts to describe the geometrical reasoning when solvers cannot rely on visual information. We analyse a case study of a blind mathematician solving a geometrical task. Qualitative analyses allow to observe an effective figural and conceptual blending and better highlight the crucial role played by spatial aspect, embedded into the figural component.

Abstract
In this paper, we use the Theory of Figural Concepts to describe the geometrical reasoning when solvers cannot rely on visual information. We analyse a case study of a blind mathematician solving a geometrical task. Qualitative analyses allow to observe an effective figural and conceptual blending and better highlight the crucial role played by spatial aspect, embedded into the figural component.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
