This article is the result of a research collaboration with the Department of Educational Studies, the Faculty of Education - Teacher Training Centre at the Complutense University of Madrid, in order to understand how a universal perspective to learning can reduce inequalities and offer equal opportunities for all students, including students with disabilities. In this paper we will present the principles, guidelines and checkpoints of the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) model, developed by CAST in the recent version from 2018, as a useful tool for inclusive design according to the special pedagogy and didactic approach, and as a working model for the identification of learning barriers in school curriculum planning.

Abstract
