Apnoea seizures as the only symptom of an ictal event are uncommon. Most frequently they are a particular type of epileptic seizures of neonatal period. Up to now only 11 cases have been reported in the literature in childhood. We report further 2 girls respectively affected by severe myoclonic epilepsy and partial cryptogenic epilepsy. Poligraphic recording of apnoea seizures performed in both patients making it possible to differentiate these seizures from other non-epileptic apnoea events. The ictal EEG features of seizures suggest the deep site of the epileptic discharges in according with the literature data.

Poligraphic recording of apnoea seizures performed in both patients making it possible to differentiate these seizures from other non-epileptic apnoea events. The ictal EEG features of seizures suggest the deep site of the epileptic discharges in according with the literature data.File in questo prodotto:
