The construct of Emotional Intelligence ( has been studied as a potential predictor of psychological wellbeing and social interaction during childhood Among the different possible EI formulations, Trait EI is conceptualized as a lower order personality construct defined as a constellation of self emotional perceptions and behavioral dispositions At this regard, TEI starts its development from the increasing autonomy of children in middle childhood which is also reflected in their emotional functioning Actually, children at this age increasingly show introspection concerning their emotional skills and that is exactly the age in which childrendevelop the affective aspects of personality such as perceptions of emotions that allow integrating Trait emotional intelligence as part of a person’s self image.
