Measuring the joint motion under physiological loads is fundamental for the comprehension of the normal and impaired musculoskeletal function [1]. Present measurement techniques in vivo are however invasive [2,3] or imprecise [4]. Dynamic magnetic resonance imaging (DMRI) represents an emerging technology that may overcome these limitations [5]. This work presents a procedure to quantify the knee kinematics under physiological loads and about 90° of knee flexion. The accuracy of a new registration algorithm is also discussed.

Abstract
Measuring the joint motion under physiological loads is fundamental for the comprehension of the normal and impaired musculoskeletal function [1]. Present measurement techniques in vivo are however invasive [2,3] or imprecise [4]. Dynamic magnetic resonance imaging (DMRI) represents an emerging technology that may overcome these limitations [5]. This work presents a procedure to quantify the knee kinematics under physiological loads and about 90° of knee flexion. The accuracy of a new registration algorithm is also discussed.File in questo prodotto:
