La retorica della saggezza nel «Furioso»

The study analyzes the problematic relationship with the wisdom that entertain both the Narrator of the Furioso and the three characters who most contribute to the closure of the plot: Astolfo, Rinaldo and Ruggiero. As regards the first aspect, we try to show the difference between the public rhetoric of the Narrator del Furioso and the private rhetoric of the speaker of the Satire. The precariousness of any form of mental balance in the Furioso is confirmed by the analysis of the three characters.
