Figure e simbolismi animali nella letteratura religiosa musulmana

The author examines the theme of animals in the Koran, in the Hadith and in some texts of the Arab and Persian literary tradition of mystical trends (Suhrawardi, 'Attar) and of al-Tabari. The theme is presented through a series of chapters that analyze the animal world and the human world as parallel communities, the animals in the eschatological context and as a "sign of God" (ayat allah), the animals in moral-exhortative discourse and in spiritual discourse, and finally as God's punishment.

L’autore esamina il tema degli animali nel Corano, nel Hadith e in alcuni testi della tradizione letteraria araba e persiana di tendenze mistiche (Suhrawardi, ‘Attar) e di al-Tabari. Il tema viene presentato attraverso una serie di capitoli che analizzano il mondo animale e il mondo umano come comunità parallele, gli animali nel contesto escatologico e come "segno di Dio" (ayat allah), gli animali nel discorso morale-esortativo e nel discorso spirituale, e infine come castigo di Dio.
