The 3D virtual sound fields of 4 existing halls are reproduced by means of single and dual stereo-dipole techniques in the Arlecchino listening room at the University of Bologna. Even though many acoustic parameters obtained by the virtual IRs result within JND of the real IRs, the autocorrelation functions (ACFs) of virtual IRs neglect the original ACFs because of the resonance effect by neighboring loudspeakers’ locations. Owing to the two different presentations from the frontal and rear loudspeakers, the resonance effect is controlled, and then the dual stereo-dipole can correct the correlation structures of virtual IRs, including interaural cross correlation (IACC).
