The “Economic Constitutions” of the XX Century in Europe show all a similar scheme: in addition to the definition, more or less, of a clear economic model to be realized, there always followed an articulated discipline of rules on the so-called “Governance of the economy”. Nevertheless, compared to these original models, much has changed. First of all, the object being governed has changed: the economy. As a result, its government is now also different, since it no longer appears to have the exclusive competence of the national State. Starting from these premises the essay describes the transformation of the economy in the XXI Century, where the strength of the market prevails over the weakness of the State.

Abstract

The “Economic Constitutions” of the XX Century in Europe show all a similar scheme: in addition to the definition, more or less, of a clear economic model to be realized, there always followed an articulated discipline of rules on the so-called “Governance of the economy”. Nevertheless, compared to these original models, much has changed. First of all, the object being governed has changed: the economy. As a result, its government is now also different, since it no longer appears to have the exclusive competence of the national State. Starting from these premises the essay describes the transformation of the economy in the XXI Century, where the strength of the market prevails over the weakness of the State.
