Il giardino degli amanti nel romanzo persiano Vis e Rāmin di Gorgāni (XI sec.)

The article examines the motif of the garden in its various functions and in different contexts in Vis and Rāmin, a Persian verse novel (mathnavi) of the 11th century by the poet Gorgāni. The images relating to the garden and the contexts in which it appears will be variously recycled and revisited in the Persian letters after Vis and Rāmin, which therefore became a model for subsequent authors. With a careful exemplification the garden is analyzed in particular in the following typologies: the garden as locus amoenus correlated with paradise; the garden of the soul; the garden of the beloved’s face; the garden as a secret place of meeting and setting of the love rituals

L’articolo esamina il motivo del giardino nelle sue varie funzioni e in diversi contesti nel Vis e Rāmin, romanzo persiano in versi (mathnavi) del XI sec. del poeta Gorgāni. Le immagini relative al giardino e i contesti in cui esso compare saranno variamente riciclati e rivisitati nelle lettere persiane posteriori al Vis e Rāmin, il quale assurge così a modello per gli autori successivi. Con un’attenta esemplificazione il giardino viene analizzato in particolare nelle seguenti tipologie: il giardino come locus amoenus correlato con il paradiso; il giardino dell’anima; il giardino del volto dell’amato/a; il giardino come luogo segreto di incontro e di ambientazione dei rituali amorosi.
