Abstract

Rvewi of the following book: This book is a welcome addition to the scant literature on the teaching of dialogue interpreting. Literature on the training of dialogue interpreters has a long-standing tradition in Sign Language Interpreting – (see the Gallaudet The Interpreter Education Series edited by Roy and by Swabey and Malcolm for example), but much less so in spoken interpreting. Outside Rudvin and Tomassini’s 2011 MacMillan volume Teaching Interpreting in the Workplace specifically for the classroom and volumes such as Tipton and Furmanek’s Dialogue Interpreting: A Guide to Interpreting in Public Services and the Community which can be adopted as a classroom text, there have been several articles and chapters dealing specifically with pedagogy (as in the first Critical Link volume), but few dedicated volumes.
