The European Union agency Eurofound has recently established the European Monitor of Reshoring (EMR), aimed at collecting evidence of reshoring initiatives implemented within the EU. In this paper, the authors – who are responsible for this project – present some preliminary findings obtained at the end of the first year of monitoring. These results suggest that reshoring cuts across diverse industries and EU countries. In addition, motivations aimed to increase customer perceived value appeared to be more frequent than those that are aimed to improve cost efficiency. Finally, many motivations emerge as country and industry-specific.

Abstract
The European Union agency Eurofound has recently established the European Monitor of Reshoring (EMR), aimed at collecting evidence of reshoring initiatives implemented within the EU. In this paper, the authors – who are responsible for this project – present some preliminary findings obtained at the end of the first year of monitoring. These results suggest that reshoring cuts across diverse industries and EU countries. In addition, motivations aimed to increase customer perceived value appeared to be more frequent than those that are aimed to improve cost efficiency. Finally, many motivations emerge as country and industry-specific.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
