Contact analysis is crucial for the study of human joints. In order to perform this analysis in-vivo it is necessary to combine information from different techniques, such as magnetic resonance images for the cartilage description and computer tomography in combination with Roentgen stereophotogrammetry for the quantification of the bone relative motion. Not all the studies on the joint motion present however cartilage data, making the contact analysis impossible. The aim of this work is to verify whether it is possible to reconstruct the tibio-femoral cartilage distribution by envelope from the knee natural motion.

Abstract
Contact analysis is crucial for the study of human joints. In order to perform this analysis in-vivo it is necessary to combine information from different techniques, such as magnetic resonance images for the cartilage description and computer tomography in combination with Roentgen stereophotogrammetry for the quantification of the bone relative motion. Not all the studies on the joint motion present however cartilage data, making the contact analysis impossible. The aim of this work is to verify whether it is possible to reconstruct the tibio-femoral cartilage distribution by envelope from the knee natural motion.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
