Abstract. In this paper I try to reconstruct in a clear way the different strands, techniques, and arguments used within the variegated constellation of feminist legal studies, starting with the initial, bisected way of reconstructing equality, discussing the way the micro- and macro-perspectives have contributed to the theorization of gender, continuing through the most important “schools” of the second and third “waves,” and including the most recent online activism.
