Today choline-PET/CT is the most widespread imaging technique for assessing PCa relapse. It can detect the site of recurrence with lower PSA compared to conventional imaging. Preliminary clinical reports of 18F-FACBC showed an improvement in the detection rate of 20% to 40% in comparison to 11C-choline.1 Further studies comparing these 2 radiotracers demonstrated similar results (reference 15 in article). Nevertheless, 18F-FACBC has some peculiar advantages, such as a shorter synthesis time as well as a longer half-life of 109 minutes.

Abstract
Today choline-PET/CT is the most widespread imaging technique for assessing PCa relapse. It can detect the site of recurrence with lower PSA compared to conventional imaging. Preliminary clinical reports of 18F-FACBC showed an improvement in the detection rate of 20% to 40% in comparison to 11C-choline.1 Further studies comparing these 2 radiotracers demonstrated similar results (reference 15 in article). Nevertheless, 18F-FACBC has some peculiar advantages, such as a shorter synthesis time as well as a longer half-life of 109 minutes.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
