The topic of the indoor ventilation in residential buildings is now of great interest to ensure high levels of comfort and human health protection. This paper addresses the problem of ventilation within the existing residential buildings by assessing the impact that actual standards on air quality and energy savings impose. The analysis was conducted on a case study of a multi-storey residential building relating to the plan of PEEP Corticella in Bologna. After an analysis of the ventilation requirements, the energy needs of the building and the incidence of heat exchange by ventilation are evaluated both in the actual state and in a project state that provides energy refurbishment to the current national standard. The comparison between energy needs for natural and mechanical ventilation system, highlights the advantage with high e!ciency heat recovery, which ensure high comfort, constant IAQ and prevents the formation of mold and condensation due to the continuous air change

Abstract
The comparison between energy needs for natural and mechanical ventilation system, highlights the advantage with high e!ciency heat recovery, which ensure high comfort, constant IAQ and prevents the formation of mold and condensation due to the continuous air changeI documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
