The restoration project of a historic building, the choice of new intended uses and changes to be made to structural parts and plant must be born as a result of an integrated path of knowledge that highlights critical issues and resources of the artefact , in order to seek specific solutions also in view of the reduction of energy consumption, which is an aspect of increasing importance for the proper management over time. This methodological approach has been applied to the case-study of the former Gym Campostrino in Forlì: the integrated reading of the artefact has led to the creation of the “Matrix of Reversibility”, a proposal for a representation of the degrees of freedom for the application of changes to the building envelope and plant system for energy saving; then this has led to the definition of areas and priorities for intervention, to a consistent distribution of functions, as well as to specific technological solutions to intervene locally on the building in compliance with its historical constraints, the needs of conservation and the full perception of its cultural value.

Abstract
The restoration project of a historic building, the choice of new intended uses and changes to be made to structural parts and plant must be born as a result of an integrated path of knowledge that highlights critical issues and resources of the artefact , in order to seek specific solutions also in view of the reduction of energy consumption, which is an aspect of increasing importance for the proper management over time. This methodological approach has been applied to the case-study of the former Gym Campostrino in Forlì: the integrated reading of the artefact has led to the creation of the “Matrix of Reversibility”, a proposal for a representation of the degrees of freedom for the application of changes to the building envelope and plant system for energy saving; then this has led to the definition of areas and priorities for intervention, to a consistent distribution of functions, as well as to specific technological solutions to intervene locally on the building in compliance with its historical constraints, the needs of conservation and the full perception of its cultural value.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
