This paper examines the issue of context through the comparative analysis of two corpora. In one of them, two cooks are at work in the kitchen of a restaurant; in the other two acquainted students are preparing pancakes. The analysis is focused on: 1) the objects in the setting; and 2) the participants' identity. It investigates how the participants resort to the context in their activity, how the analyst resorts to the context in his/her analysis, and then what is displayed in the research paper. This investigation highlights that "accesses to the context" are multiple, not only because of different points of view, but also because the analyst has to access differently to the context according to the research stages.
