To establish more collaborative and integrated buyer-supplier relationships, a full comprehension of their behaviour is necessary. The analysis of the information and physical flows in the dyad represents a powerful tool in this direction. This research considers the case of the most important Italian sport motorbike manufacturer. The information and physical exchange among the main contractor and a representative sample of its suppliers – inclusive of the forecast emission – is studied, and the contractual aspects which govern the relationships are also considered. Preliminary results suggest that the implemented policy is only partially effective, and the suppliers in certain cases have trouble to satisfy the buyer’s requirements.

Abstract
To establish more collaborative and integrated buyer-supplier relationships, a full comprehension of their behaviour is necessary. The analysis of the information and physical flows in the dyad represents a powerful tool in this direction. This research considers the case of the most important Italian sport motorbike manufacturer. The information and physical exchange among the main contractor and a representative sample of its suppliers – inclusive of the forecast emission – is studied, and the contractual aspects which govern the relationships are also considered. Preliminary results suggest that the implemented policy is only partially effective, and the suppliers in certain cases have trouble to satisfy the buyer’s requirements.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
