The need for better co-ordination and integration across the supply chain is a critical issue in Operations Management, this is also due to the significant support coming from the quick development of adequate IT solutions. This research analyses the “Spider-Win” European Project, which is finalized to formalize and implement an advanced “propagation and prediction-based” SCM model, and to develop the relative software platform. We start presenting the aim of the project and the benefits that are expected, then we focus on the phases related to the modelling of firms’ processes and of the integrated SC. Finally, we emphasise the main potential impacts.
