In the last decades we have seen an uninterrupted series of different theories about cognition: what it is, how it is founded and how it is produced. The theory according which analogy or analogy making is the core of cognition is an attempt to outline a general framework of cognition, in which every cognitive capability is ascribable to the mechanisms underlying the ability to connect current thoughts and old memories through the building of all sorts of analogical bridges.
