A finite element model is proposed for Shape Memory Alloys (SMA) reinforced composite thin plates. The plate and the SMA fibers are modeled with different elements in the two dimensional setting. Fibers embedded off the plate midplane are modeled via rigid body connections. This approach allows the modeling of stiffness control and shape control configurations.

Abstract
A finite element model is proposed for Shape Memory Alloys (SMA) reinforced composite thin plates. The plate and the SMA fibers are modeled with different elements in the two dimensional setting. Fibers embedded off the plate midplane are modeled via rigid body connections. This approach allows the modeling of stiffness control and shape control configurations.File in questo prodotto:
