In this work a logic model based on discrete event systems to simulate a production line is presented. After a short theoretical introduction, the plant under exam is described, the designed model (implemented in Matlab and Simulink) is deeply reviewed and its use, as well as the obtained results, is shown. This work has been realized as a cooperation between the company G.D, world leader in tobacco packaging, and the Center for Research on Complex Automated Systems (CASY) “Giuseppe Evangelisti” of the University of Bologna.
