In this paper a finite element model for dynamics of electroelastic plates is presented. The plate kinematics is based on an enriched theory. In particular, the plate is assumed to be able of thickness distensions and the electric potential can vary through the thickness. The proposed finite element formulation descends from a Hellinger- Reissner-type functional and is based on a rational criterion to select the approximations for independent mechanical and electrical variables. Within this framework a new plate element is presented.

Abstract
In this paper a finite element model for dynamics of electroelastic plates is presented. The plate kinematics is based on an enriched theory. In particular, the plate is assumed to be able of thickness distensions and the electric potential can vary through the thickness. The proposed finite element formulation descends from a Hellinger- Reissner-type functional and is based on a rational criterion to select the approximations for independent mechanical and electrical variables. Within this framework a new plate element is presented.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
