Politica e scienza: riflessioni “neorankiane” tra storia e antropologia

The essay first analyses the relationship between politics and science in folklore studies during fascist dictatorships and the controversial legacy of such publications on post-war scholarship. It then critically discusses the influence of the linguistic turn through an analysis of the debate on contemporary history and proposes a return to an approach that rediscovers objectivity as the goal of historical research. Finally, it analyses forms of affective polarisation in contemporary society and research and argues for a realistic approach as a way to analyse the far right without value bias, understand its appeal to low-income segments of the population and thus providing suggestions for the political decision-making process.

Il saggio analizza innanzitutto il rapporto tra politica e scienza negli studi sul folklore durante le dittature fasciste e l'eredità controversa di tali pubblicazioni sulla ricerca accademica del dopoguerra. Discute poi criticamente l'influenza della svolta linguistica attraverso un'analisi del dibattito sulla storia contemporanea e propone un ritorno a un approccio che riscopre l'obiettività come obiettivo della ricerca storica. Infine, analizza le forme di polarizzazione affettiva nella società e nella ricerca contemporanee e sostiene un approccio realistico come modo per analizzare l'estrema destra senza pregiudizi di valore, comprenderne il fascino per i segmenti a basso reddito della popolazione e fornire così suggerimenti per il processo decisionale politico.
