La responsabilità oltre la responsabilità. Discorsi novecenteschi sul governo della tecnica

The article examines several twentieth-century discourses that explore the distinctive features of contemporary technology, no longer understood as an «orthopedic apparatus» designed to enhance human faculties, but rather conceived as an authentic «world». Within this framework, the foundations of the modern conception of responsibility begin to falter. Human action, in particular, becomes fragmented into a series of discrete segments that can no longer account for the overall meaning of action or for its ultimate consequences. Yet, by following the paths traced by the distinct perspectives of Günther Anders and Hans Jonas, it appears possible to revive an inquiry into a form of “responsibility beyond responsibility”.
