Starting from the topics addressed by Roberto Rossellini during the round table held in Paris, March 1963, dedicated to the “Cinéma vérité” and the new light technologies in the field of cinema and television equipment, this essay relates them to Illibatezza (1963), the first episode of the film RoGoPaG, by Rossellini, Pasolini, Godard, and Gregoretti. Namely, this essay identifies Illibatezza as the true farewell to cinema of the Italian director, as well as the tangible sign of his diversity and his distancing both from the “cinema spectacle” and from the new cinema or cinéma vérité, born from a rib of that Nouvelle Vague that Rossellini had yet helped to bring into existence.

Abstract
Starting from the topics addressed by Roberto Rossellini during the round table held in Paris, March 1963, dedicated to the “Cinéma vérité” and the new light technologies in the field of cinema and television equipment, this essay relates them to Illibatezza (1963), the first episode of the film RoGoPaG, by Rossellini, Pasolini, Godard, and Gregoretti. Namely, this essay identifies Illibatezza as the true farewell to cinema of the Italian director, as well as the tangible sign of his diversity and his distancing both from the “cinema spectacle” and from the new cinema or cinéma vérité, born from a rib of that Nouvelle Vague that Rossellini had yet helped to bring into existence.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
