The paper describes a large scale experiment carried out at the GWK in Hannover (Germany). Wave induced loads on close-to-prototype scale jetties were measured, with particular attention to scale effects due to air content in water. The aim of the paper is to present the tests, to describe the impact process and to give preliminary results concerning uplift loads.
