Corpora can give new impulses to the analysis of special languages, which play an increasingly important role in GFL teaching; moreover, they can close the gap left by deficient teaching materials. Their use proves to be advantageous in the study of special language collocations too, which represent a particularly difficult phenomenon in (foreign) language learning. This article represents a first attempt to reflect on collocations in the COVID-19 discourse. The considerations presented are based on the data extracted and analysed within the 4EU+ project Knowledge through Terminology - From Multilingual Data to Domain-specific Know-ledge via Terminological Resources (TermiKnowledge) with the aim of developing of a multilingual corpus-driven online specialised dictionary on COVID-19.
