Abstract
In Rimini, on the remains of a Roman amphitheater, stands the CEIS (Centro Educativo Italo Svizzero): established in 1946 by Felix Schwarz, a friend and collaborator of Aldo van Eyck, and Margherita Zoebeli, who would lead it until her passing. The "village" emerged in a Rimini devastated by bombings, initially as a relief center for the population and later as a space dedicated to childhood education. This essay recounts what this institution represents today, where the principles of the Nouvelle École were anticipated and admired as a model for educational spaces. It also reflects on the identity value of this site, whose uniqueness lies in the coexistence of ruins, huts, and war-torn childrenI documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
