Abstract
The castle of Canossa was the subject of archaeological investigations from 1877 until today, but there are no updated editions of the site finds; this study aims to critically discuss numismatic materials found in the 19th century and those from archaeological excavations in the fortress in 2009 and in the village in 2017-2018. Unfortunately, the coins found were stolen in 1921, but a partial description remains. Finally, we examine a pilgrim badge depicting Saint Peter and Saint Paul, made in Rome in the 13th/l4th century, found in the village in 2018.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
