Abstract
The town hall of Bologna was invested by several restoration campaigns after the unification of Italy. The operations were managed directly by the municipality which appointed public technicians (Antonio Zannoni) and external professionals (Raffaele Faccioli). The latter was responsible for the most extensive restoration, which gave a medieval image to the palace, at the expense of historical testimonies from the Renaissance and Baroque periods. At the end of the works, the palace was radically transformed and, thanks to some new epigraphs, it became a document of the transition to the new unified state.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
