This article discusses opportunities and limitations of AI-based technologies in a speculative design co-creative process. The aim is to evaluate co-creative models involving human and computational agents in future-oriented design processes to critically engages with technology and future perspectives. We present a mixed-initiative process for the co-design of speculative design worldbuilding. We discuss a section of the entire process with the aim to identify possible collaborative model between human and computational agents that rely on available and accessible AI-based technologies.

Abstract

This article discusses opportunities and limitations of AI-based technologies in a speculative design co-creative process. The aim is to evaluate co-creative models involving human and computational agents in future-oriented design processes to critically engages with technology and future perspectives. We present a mixed-initiative process for the co-design of speculative design worldbuilding. We discuss a section of the entire process with the aim to identify possible collaborative model between human and computational agents that rely on available and accessible AI-based technologies.
