This paper focuses on the role of Numana in the broader context of exchanges between the Greek and Adriatic worlds in the central centuries of the 1st millennium BC.Analysis of data on pottery imported from the Greek world, especially Athens, between the end of the 6th and the first decades of the 4th century BC reveals many elements in common with imports found in Etruria Padana, especially at Spina. The contextual reading of the data, mostly drawn from recent research on the Quagliotti-Davanzali necropoleis and including some unpublished material, aims to investigate such phenomena not only from the perspective of commercial dynamics, but also in relation to the diffusion of Greek practices and cultural interactions between the Greek and Adriatic worlds.
