The article consists in the preliminary report on the 2006 season of the Irano-Italian Archaeological Mission of the University of Bologna and of the Iranian Centre for Archaeological Research on the Toll-e Takht of Pasargad, the imposing fortification built by Darius I on the site which Cyrus the Great had used for a ceremonial terrace. The importance of the excavation consists in the possibility to verify, through a stratigraphic methodology, the conclusions of the work by the British Mission directed by D. Stronach in 1961-1963, which did not work on a stratigraphic basis. The results, despite the limited area of the trench, are of a considerable importance.

Abstract
The article consists in the preliminary report on the 2006 season of the Irano-Italian Archaeological Mission of the University of Bologna and of the Iranian Centre for Archaeological Research on the Toll-e Takht of Pasargad, the imposing fortification built by Darius I on the site which Cyrus the Great had used for a ceremonial terrace. The importance of the excavation consists in the possibility to verify, through a stratigraphic methodology, the conclusions of the work by the British Mission directed by D. Stronach in 1961-1963, which did not work on a stratigraphic basis. The results, despite the limited area of the trench, are of a considerable importance.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
