The construct of Quality of Life (QoL) has recently gained greater relevance in the field of Intellectual Disability (ID) and it is now a key criterion for program planning and evaluation, and for the managerial and policy decisions of organizations providing services for individuals with ID. Although there is general agreement on the main properties of the construct, some issues are still open to debate. The present review aims to describe the main theoretical models of QoL, scales for children and young adults with ID, as well as models for program planning and for managerial and policy decisions.

Abstract
The construct of Quality of Life (QoL) has recently gained greater relevance in the field of Intellectual Disability (ID) and it is now a key criterion for program planning and evaluation, and for the managerial and policy decisions of organizations providing services for individuals with ID. Although there is general agreement on the main properties of the construct, some issues are still open to debate. The present review aims to describe the main theoretical models of QoL, scales for children and young adults with ID, as well as models for program planning and for managerial and policy decisions.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
