Measure and Disproportion, Proportion and Incommensurability in the Metamathematics of Nicholaus of Cues. The essay discusses the relationship between the measuring theory and the metaphysics of mind in the philosophical, scientific and theological work of Nicholas of Cusa. Following the evolution of Cusanus’ thought, the focus is brought to irrational numbers and incommensurable quantities, as well as the process of transsumptio ad infinitum, which allows the application of the coincidence of opposites method to the field of mathematics.
