A complete characterization (chemical, elemental, mineralogical and thermal analysis, lower heating values and microstructural study) of different agricultural by-products, as grapes and cherries seeds, sawdust and egg shells, was conducted. The results obtained allowed to orientate the use of grapes and cherries seeds and sawdust as pore forming agents for low density thermal insulation clayed bricks due to the high heating values of the by-products, around 17-20 MJ/kg. As regard egg shells, being constituted mainly (95%) by CaCO3, their use was addressed into limestone cement formulations.

Abstract
A complete characterization (chemical, elemental, mineralogical and thermal analysis, lower heating values and microstructural study) of different agricultural by-products, as grapes and cherries seeds, sawdust and egg shells, was conducted. The results obtained allowed to orientate the use of grapes and cherries seeds and sawdust as pore forming agents for low density thermal insulation clayed bricks due to the high heating values of the by-products, around 17-20 MJ/kg. As regard egg shells, being constituted mainly (95%) by CaCO3, their use was addressed into limestone cement formulations.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
