The article1 discusses the effects of COVID-19 on the mortality and the clinical characteristics in peripheral artery disease (PAD) patients with COVID-19 compared with PAD patients without COVID-19. We thank the authors for these interesting observations, and we draw attention to the clinical future of these patients in case they develop a long COVID syndrome. There is still little information in the literature on long COVID syndrome in patients with PAD both due to poor diagnosis and lack of clear definition of long COVID syndrome.2–4

Abstract
The article1 discusses the effects of COVID-19 on the mortality and the clinical characteristics in peripheral artery disease (PAD) patients with COVID-19 compared with PAD patients without COVID-19. We thank the authors for these interesting observations, and we draw attention to the clinical future of these patients in case they develop a long COVID syndrome. There is still little information in the literature on long COVID syndrome in patients with PAD both due to poor diagnosis and lack of clear definition of long COVID syndrome.2–4I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
