The paper aims at showing some structural features of Giovanni Giudici’s essay «La gestione ironica» (1964), in order to sketch a proposal: to deepen the knowledge of the poet’s non- fiction writing, as opposed to a widespread tendency to consider it a mere support for poetry analysis. Moving from this perspective, a theoretical and rhetorical analysis is then displayed, to show how analogy, metaphor and irony are employed as specific communication tools in Giudici’s quest for an explicit yet reasoned critique of Italian neo-avant-garde movements such as «Novissimi» and «Gruppo ‘63» from a poetical and political point of view. Textual references and hidden inter-textuality (Franco Fortini, Ernst Bloch, Frantz Fanon, among others) complete this complex frame, not only moving towards a comprehensive theory of his days’ poetry, but also contributing to the formal autonomy of this «minor» and «elusive» genre.

Abstract
Textual references and hidden inter-textuality (Franco Fortini, Ernst Bloch, Frantz Fanon, among others) complete this complex frame, not only moving towards a comprehensive theory of his days’ poetry, but also contributing to the formal autonomy of this «minor» and «elusive» genre.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
