The proposed book is an original and fascinating portrait of Russian cultural history from the 18th to the 20th century, depicting the literary space which arises around texts (the “landscape”), as a space of creative invention where different forms of art meet and interplay. In the intersection of art and writing the author identifies recurring motifs, literary genres, symbols and places which characterized Russian culture throughout the centuries.
