This article offers the analysis of the manuscript tradition of three documents concerning the bishop of Antioch Paul of Samosata (CPG 1705, 1708, 1709), which permits not only to identify the copy (Rom. Bibl. Naz. Centr. S. A. Valle 103, ff. 515r–543v) – dating to the period between the end of the 16th and the beginning of the 17th century – used as the base-text for the editio princeps that appeared at Rome in 1608, but as well to propose a stemmatic reconstruction of the recentiores. Moreover, some of these late witnesses are identified as showing the hand of well-known scribes and scholars operating at the papal curia at that time, such as Johannes Sanctamauras and the Theatine Antonio Agelli. A latere the paper presents the recognition of three other Greek copyists’ handwriting, namely Petrus Devaris, Emmanuel Provataris and Julius Caesar Sanctamauras, the first-born son of Johannes.
