The paper aims at analysing the evolution of online disinformation from a multidisciplinary perspective, considering it as an action tool of some geopolitical actors but also as a phenomenon characterized by several aspects, including psychological ones. The firstpart of the paper looks at fake news in the contexts of information, social networks and law. The second part of the contribution focuses on how fake news are disseminated and how they are linked to other Internet phenomena, such as political propaganda and user profiling. In the final remarks, the authors identify ten risks for democracy in the new technological dimension of social networks, suggesting that the scholar who intends to deal with these issues should adopt a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary perspective
Il contributo analizza l’evoluzione della disinformazione online in un’ottica multidisciplinare: quale strumento di azione di alcuni attori geopolitici ma anche quale fenomeno connotato da diversi elementi, fra cui quelli psicologici. Se nella prima parte del contributo si esplorano le fake news nel quadro dell’informazione, dei social network e del diritto, nella seconda si dà conto di come le fake news circolino e di come esse si inseriscano in un ambito più ampio di propaganda e profilazione dell’utente. Nelle conclusioni gli autori individuano dieci rischi per la democrazia nella dimensione tecnologica dei social networks, auspicando che lo studioso che si voglia occupare di questi temi adotti una prospettiva multidisciplinare e interdisciplinare.
