Index Naturae is a sort of encyclopedic book, a “book of books” in which every entry, that is, every book, offers itself as a tool capable of suggesting different trajectories of interpretation of nature, of its constituent elements and the relationship that man has with them today. A space that tries to reflect, ask questions, raise questions, such as those felt by photographers when they are confronted with familiar or unknown places. Facing a choral dimension, in which each point of view outlines a distinct and recognizable path, the set of voices that describe the great book relies on an idea of the universe in which everyone is “a small man or rather a man in small” a microcosm, and “Nature, a great world or a great man”, a macrocosm, where “the principles of one are found analogically in the other”.

Index Naturae si configura come una sorta di libro enciclopedico, un “libro dei libri” in cui ogni voce, ossia ogni libro, si offre come strumento in grado di suggerire diverse traiettorie di interpretazione della natura, dei suoi elementi costitutivi e del rapporto che l’uomo intrattiene oggi con essi. Uno spazio che cerca di restituire riflessioni, porre domande, sollevare interrogativi, come quelli avvertiti dai fotografi nel momento in cui si confrontano con luoghi familiari o sconosciuti. Confrontandosi con una dimensione di tipo corale, in cui ogni punto di vista tratteggia un percorso distinto e riconoscibile, l’insieme delle voci che descrivono il grande libro si affida a un’idea dell’universo in cui ognuno è “un piccolo uomo o meglio un uomo in piccolo”, un microcosmo, e “la Natura, un gran mondo o un uomo in grande”, un macrocosmo, dove “i principi dell’uno si trovano analogicamente nell’altro”.
